Booking your first lash extension appointment can feel exciting and a little nerve-wracking at the same time. What will it feel like? How long does it take? What should you do to prepare? At Lavilash Beauty Lounge in Winnipeg, we make sure every first-timer feels completely at ease from the moment they walk in.

Before your appointment, arrive with clean lashes. That means no mascara, no eye makeup, and no oily products around the eye area. Clean lashes ensure the best adhesive bond and the longest retention. If you wear contacts, consider bringing your glasses — you'll have your eyes closed for the duration of the service, and contacts can feel dry afterward.

When you arrive at our studio on McPhillips Street, you'll be welcomed into one of our 7 private treatment rooms. Unlike open-floor studios, your appointment at Lavilash is completely private — just you and your artist in a calm, comfortable space.

Your artist will start with a consultation. They'll ask about your lifestyle, your desired look, and any concerns you might have. Whether you want a subtle, natural enhancement or full-on glamour, your artist will recommend the best lash style and technique for you. This is the perfect time to ask any questions — we love educating our clients.

Then, you'll lie back on a comfortable bed, close your eyes, and relax. Your artist will carefully isolate each natural lash and apply individual extensions using medical-grade adhesive. The process is painless — most clients actually fall asleep during their appointment.

A full set typically takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on the style. Classic sets are the quickest, while Mega Volume sets take the longest because of the intricate fan work involved.

When your set is complete, your artist will walk you through aftercare instructions. The key points: avoid water for 24 to 48 hours, skip the mascara, brush daily with a spoolie, and book your fill in 2 to 3 weeks.

One thing to know: no deposit is required to book your appointment. We just ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment are subject to a $35 fee.
